If there is anyone out there that understands anything about computers.
Help!
I am having to use Mr. Rune's computer because my laptop is in pieces all over the floor. (Mon Dieu how I hate technology!). Anyway my problem is this. Mr. Rune's computer is running Windows Vista (Mon Dieu how I hate Windows Vista) and it won't let me cut and paste from a word document into my blogger posting field. Why oh Lord why?
Anyway. Normal Volatile inefficiency has tipped over into rank stupidity today. I had a pile of small poetry magazines which I was thumbing idly through when I suddenly came across a poem that caught my eye and I thought, this is really good - above average definitely. I wonder who this person is? You would think the title 'Gerontion' might have given the game away but it must have been a full two minutes before I realised that my copy of The Waste Land and other poems had got mixed in with my small mags pile.
What can I say? I'm sure Mr. Eliot would have been relatively undelighted to have my workshopping suggestions.

I don't know a lot about these things, but if that happened to me I'd try saving the document as an rtf file, opening it in WordPad and pasting from there.
I'll try that. Thanks Dominic.
Lol, I'm glad he scored 'above average'!
It won't let you at all, or it won't let you using the right-click mouse function?
If it's the former then I'm clueless.
If it's the latter, you might try the Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V shortcut keys or you could use the 'edit' from the menu bar.
Vista - bleeech.
:-)
Will try that too. Thanks Scotty. I agree about Vista.
Mmmm! Well. It was a long day.
I have only been "into" computers for the last year and have cut my teeth on Windows Vista and know no other. Sorry you are having problems but I am not the one to help you as I often need the skills of others to get me by, Hope you are soon back to "normal" computer-wise.
I had a look at Gerontion the other day, trying to imagine reading it as if it was in a current poetry mag - gave me a kind of fresh perspective on it! Though I'm pretty sure he wouldn't get away with the squatting Jew now.
Thanks Weaver. I am feeling a bit technologically sorry for myself at the moment!
Sorlil - No almost certainly not.
